Speaker: Marci Reed

Topic: "Pick Your Green Battles"

Did you know that if the thermostats in every house in America were lowered 1 degree Fahrenheit during the winter, the nation would save 230 million barrels of crude oil? Or that one hour of using a gas-operated leaf blower produces the same amount of hydrocarbons as a car driving 4,400 miles?

The sheer amount of information and advice we receive about "green" choices we can make is astounding. And, since it's totally overwhelming (not to mention impossible) to try to do everything, it makes sense to focus on areas where you are comfortable and it will be easy for you to make a difference.

Come learn myths and facts about environmental issues, easy changes you can make that will benefit our air, land and water, and hear about organizations you can get involved with that are doing great things to make Atlanta and Georgia a healthy place to live and work.
