Lisa Lim is a designer and researcher in architecture with academic and practical backgrounds. Lisa is currently pursuing her doctorate in the Architecture, Culture, & Behavior concentration, under the guidance of Prof Craig Zimring. Her primary focus is providing better environments with the emphasis on users, dwellers of the space. She is interested in how spatial layouts can support individual experience and organizational outcomes and how designers can provide such environments. Lisa explores links between spatial layouts and individual experience or organizational outcomes in various settings including healthcare.
Her current research interests are workspace design for organizational outcomes, cross-cultural design considerations, and visual environment/relationship analyses. She is deeply engaged in the healthcare field by participating in various research projects such as design exploration for improving staff collaboration and patient experience in Patient Centered Medical Home, ICU/NICU room evaluation for user experience, and spatial layout analyses for design considerations.
She received a B.A. and an M.S. in architecture from Seoul National University in South Korea and anticipates receiving her Ph.D. in architecture from Georgia Tech in 2017.
