Forty-eight teams are set to compete in the State of Georgia FIRST LEGO League Championship, to be held January 23, 2010 from 7:30 am-5:30 pm on the Georgia Tech campus. The event will be held mainly in the Student Center Ballroom, with technical and research judging to take place in conference rooms at the Student Center Commons.

This year's challenge is called "Smart Move" and involves research and design of self-propelled vehicles. Teams of students ages 9-14 will use a sensor-equipped robotic vehicle that they built to gain access to places and things, while avoiding and surviving impacts.

This event is organized by the Georgia Tech Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics, and Computing and the Georgia Tech School of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
