The IBB Community, new Georgia Tech President, G.P. "Bud" Peterson and Friends of the Petit Institute gathered to raise funds for undergraduate research program and to honor Parker H. "Pete" Petit for his many contributions to the success of the Institute.
The evening included introductory remarks from Dr. Peterson as well as featured guest speaker, Bill Hawkins, Chief Executive Officer of Medtronic Inc., whose talk was entitled, "Climate Change: Opportunities for the Medical Device Industry in the 'Sunshine' Age."
Additionally, IBB's undergraduate research program was renamed the Parker H. Petit Undergraduate Research Scholars.
The evening was a great success raising approximately $150,000 for the Petit Scholars Program.
