At Georgia Tech's Annual Faculty/Staff Honors Luncheon, four faculty members of the Parker H. Petit Institute for Bioengineering & Bioscience were recognized for their outstanding achievements:
Georgia Tech Chapter Sigma XI Awards:
Hang Lu, PhD - Assistant Professor, School of Chemical And Biomolecular Engineering
Alfred H. Merrill, Jr., PhD - Professor, School of Biology
Class of 1934 Outstanding Interdisciplinary Activity Award:
Andres J. Garcia, PhD - Professor, School of Mechanical Engineering. The $7,500 prize was provided by a generous grant from the Class of 1934.
Class of 1934 Distinguished Professor Award - Presented by President Bud Peterson:
Robert M. Nerem, PhD - Professor, School of Mechanical Engineering, Director of the Institute for Bioengineering & Bioscience. The $20,000 prize was provided by a generous grant from the Class of 1934.
