Two Georgia Tech Alumni, Chaunté Howard Lowe and Gal Nevo are competing in the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Chaunté Howard Lowe is the top-ranked American high jumper! Lowe graduated from Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts in 2008 with a degree in economics. A former Georgia Tech track and field athlete, Lowe was inducted into the Georgia Tech Athletics Hall of Fame in 2015. She will compete in the high jump for the U.S. at this year’s games, which will be her fourth Olympics. Lowe has been profiled for the Rio Games in The New York Times, NBC, and the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
UPDATE: Chaunté just missed the medal podium, placing fourth in the high jump. Read about her heartfelt response to the results.
Gal Nevo, who also studied economics, will swim for Israel. This will be his third Olympics.
