In this class, students will learn tips and tricks for protecting their computers and files. Too often, computer security appears to be difficult to understand. The instructors will demystify computer security and help students with practical advice - what should users patch, what antivirus applications should they install, what other steps should they take?

At the end of the class, students will:

  • Have an understanding of the different components of computer security, including the operating system, anti-malware options, and applications.  
  • Understand different user activities and how they may impact your computer's security.  
  • Be able to identify, and use several tools to help secure your computer.
