U.S. News & World Report released its 2010 graduate school rankings on April 15, and the College of Computing once again ranks in the Top 10 of U.S. computer science programs.
The College ranks No. 10 among graduate programs nationwide, and five of its specialty programs also are in the Top 10. Its Systems and Theory groups moved up to Nos. 9 and 7, respectively, and its Artificial Intelligence group remained at No. 7. Though these specialties were not included in the 2010 rankings, the College also has Top 10 programs in Graphics (No. 4) and Databases (No. 7).
"I’d like to express my gratitude to all our faculty for their continued hard work in pursuing the kind of research and teaching that puts us in this rarefied company," said interim Dean Jim Foley. "I’d also like to thank all our staff for their dedicated efforts, without which we would struggle to function, much less be a Top 10 school. Finally, our students, by virtue not only of their excellent performance while in school but also their success post-graduation, also contribute significantly toward these rankings.
"We should all be proud that the College of Computing remains among the very best CS programs in the country."
