Beginning April 19, Georgia Tech students may fill out their course instructor opinion survey (CIOS). “The Course Instructor Opinion Survey is one of the most important ways for students to give feedback on their educational experience at Tech,” said Corey Boone, Vice President of Communications for the Undergraduate Student Government Association (SGA).
While the survey takes approximately one minute to complete, the data has a lasting impact. “The data that students provide is the primary criterion used for evaluating the quality of teaching when faculty members apply for promotion or tenure,” said Boone. The data also helps faculty members evaluate their relationships with students.
“Taking this survey is not only important in ensuring that the students’ voice is heard, but it is important because it benefits future students,” said Boone. Students can review survey results for all classes on line via a link on the SGA Web site, helping them make decisions about their course schedule.
CIOS surveys are open through May 9.
