No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Every Thursday night, Minorities at the College of Computing (M@CC) hosts a study session encouraging academic improvement, fellowship and friendship.

Every Thursday night, Minorities at the College of Computing (M@CC) hosts a study session dedicated to the academic support of their members. Consistently ranging from 10 to 20 members a week, M@CC study sessions encourage academic improvement, fellowship and friendship.  Members from all undergraduate years, as well as graduate students, attend.

M@CC Academic Chair Steven Simmons, a second-year Computer Science master’s student, leads the sessions. Simmons has a plethora of knowledge and experience as a Georgia Tech graduate and former working professional. His experiences in the field of academia and industry have all included group work, and Simmons greatly encourages studying in groups as opposed to simple tutoring. Students are able to learn from one another and gain a better understanding of computing because of their own discoveries.

Study sessions have a strong focus on computer science and mathematics.  Some M@CC members are teaching assistants at Georgia Tech in both CS and math, which adds to the available knowledge at the sessions.
