Summaries

Summary Sentence: Sponsored by the Georgia Tech Spanish Speaking Organization.

Full Summary: The film follows the kidnapping of Carla and her boyfriend when they are suddenly kidnapped in Caracas, Venezuela, by three men who make their living by kidnapping unwitting young adults to extort quick money from their wealthy parents.

Martin and Carla are a wealthy young couple who, after a night of club hopping, head back to their car to go home. However, three kidnappers -- Bubu, Niga, and Trece -- are waiting for them; seeing how free they are with their money, the men figure that Martin and Carla should fetch a decent ransom for their release. The kidnappers demand 20,000 dollars to set Martin and Carla free, and Carla's father struggles to raise the cash, with the criminals insisting upon payment in a mere two hours.

About the film festival:
Every spring semester the Georgia Tech Spanish Speaking Organization offers all of campus and the Atlanta community their Annual Latin American Film Festival. This event, open to students and non students alike, is our organization's attempt to create a campus wide appreciation of Latin American and Spanish Speaking culture. We believe it is a very important medium through which we can showcase our language and culture to the rest of campus.
