ADAPTS and Pi Kappa Phi co-sponsor a conversation on "The Multiculturalism of Disability" as part of Disability Awareness Days. This is the first of three topics to be explored during the day.
About this Lecture:
Just like race and gender are a critical part of
understanding the multicultural world we live, disability is equally
significant. Participants will explore the complexity of disability as a
relative factor in a person’s identity development.
About Disability Awareness Days:
Each
year ADAPTS hosts a series of events over several days with the goal of to
promoting heightened awareness, acceptance, and understanding of persons with
disabilities within the Georgia Tech community. This year’s theme,
"Exploring the Relativity of Normal," was selected to give the Tech
community an opportunity to investigate the qualitative and quantitative
constructs of ability.
