The Georgia Tech Police Department arrested Jamarice Archer of Riverdale June 27 for 13 crimes from a string of thefts in the College of Design and the Greek housing community.
GTPD used crime data and camera footage to monitor the area where plainclothes officers were able to apprehend Archer. His juvenile companion was interviewed and also charged.
Although these two may be off the streets, GTPD reminds the campus community to take steps to secure your belongings.
“Remember to always secure your work area and never leave your belongings unattended, even if it is just for a moment,” said Officer Loran Crabtree. “Book bags, purses, jackets, cell phones and laptops all make quick, easy targets for thieves.”
