There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

The Nanotechnology Research Center has acquired a variety of new instruments at the interface between nanotechnology and life sciences research as part of the core facilities in the Marcus Nanotechnology Building. One particular technique, Quartz Crystal Microbalance with Dissipation Monitoring (QCM-D), can be used to measure several dynamic properties of materials and biological molecules. Using QCM-D, changes in sproperties and mass can be simultaneomonitored in real-time in air or in liquid. This technique provides a more fundamental understanding of nanoscale material behavior.
This workshop is designed to acquaint you with the fundamental aspects of this technique as well as some examples of current applications. A demonstration experiment will also be performed.
This event includes lunch. RSVP to David Gottfried.
