The film, Mayor Ivan Allen Jr. – A Different Road, a documentary about Mayor Allen’s life and legacy, was nominated for a National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences 2016 Southeast EMMY Award in the category of Documentary – Historical. David and John Duke at Living Stories, a local Emmy-award-winning video production company, wrote and produced the documentary. The Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts Dean’s Office sponsored the film and provided support for its production.
The award for Historical Documentary was presented on June 11 at the 2016 Southeast Emmy Awards, hosted by Hollis Gillespie, an award-winning writer and comedian. Mayor Ivan Allen Jr. – A Different Road premiered in June 2015 on Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB) to critical acclaim. The documentary is often rebroadcasted on GPB. We will post the next airdate when it becomes available.
