There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Summaries

Summary Sentence: Workshop funded by Army Research Lab (ARL) and DARPA

Full Summary: No summary paragraph submitted.

Dr. Evangelos Theodorou, the director of GT-AE's Autonomous Control and Decision Systems Laboratory, will host a 2-day ARL-DARPA-funded workshop to explore the interconnections between statistical physics, stochastic control theory, and learning/adaptation. He will be joined by experts from other institutions as they investigate open questions and future research directions at the intersection of these fields.

The investigation will have a theoretical and an application component. On the theoretical level, the workshop’s objective is to determine the different points of view of computational principles and laws that appear across disciplines. On the application level, the workshop aims to identify how these different points of view can lead to efficient algorithms for learning and control of complex dynamical systems in autonomy, robotics and biology.
