Ferst Drive is undergoing a number of improvements to the streetscape, sidewalks, pavement, lighting, and traffic flow. The latest update includes road paving which will require periodic lane closures along Dalney Street through the intersection o fHemphill Avenue. This paving work will be on-going through Friday, January 27.
Campus Detours
Temporary lane closures are also to be expected. Sidewalks will remain accessible in this area, however pedestrians may be re-routed to cross the street in certain areas.
Some of the updates include installing wider and safer sidewalks, LED streetlights, and a new bus shelter. Some trees will be removed from the pedestrian islands in the intersection of Hemphill Avenue and Ferst Street. In addition, the crosswalk will be enhanced.

Campus Interruptions
Ferst Drive and Hemphill Avenue remain open during this time; however, traffic lanes will shift temporarily. Drivers will need to take special care in sharing the road with cyclists during this time. Some sidewalks and crosswalks between State Street and Hemphill Avenue will also temporarily closed, but pedestrian traffic will be rerouted appropriately.
