There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. Research engineers at the Georgia Institute of Technology are developing a knee band with microphones and vibration sensors which listens to and measures the sounds inside the joint. Those sounds can be used to determine the type of damage a person may have incurred. Newsday speaks to Professor Omer Inan from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Georgia Tech.
