There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. "PIECES: A Display of Goodwill for Virginia Tech" (30 min)

After the tragic events at Virginia Tech on April 16th, 2007, the school received more than 90,000 gifts of goodwill from all over the world. The items on display in the Squires Student Center led to this portrait of the blessing (and burden) of such a huge volume of gifts, the effort put into their display and the uncertainty of their future and ultimate value.
