There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Georgia Tech Retreat Exploring Effective Teaching (GTREET)
As teaching comes to an end each semester, faculty often reflect on how their courses went, how the students performed, and what the course evaluations have to say. We then think about what to change the next time we teach.
What we do next-or how much change really takes place-is influenced by many different factors. How much time and energy do we have to invest in improving the course? How much support is available to help us accomplish what we're considering? What have our peers-and our department head or dean-said lately about the importance of teaching?
At GTREET, faculty will collaboratively explore the change processes associated with course design and innovative teaching. The facilitators of the retreat, Dr. Karan Watson (Interim Provost of Texas A&M University) and Dr. Jeffrey Froyd (Director of Faculty Climate and Development) will highlight their experiences with innovation in engineering education, discuss findings from their research on change in higher education settings, and assist participants with addressing the challenges associated with changing a course and improving student learning. In addition, panelists from Georgia Tech will share innovations they have recently implemented in their courses and discuss the process involved in making these changes.
Join your colleagues at GTREET on Friday, January 29th and take the next step toward bringing about the changes you'd like to see!
