Wendi Sturgis, chief customer officer at Yext, has been named chair of the Georgia Tech Advisory Board (GTAB).

GTAB is comprised of a group of senior leaders who serve as a source of strategic vision for the president and senior leadership at the Georgia Institute of Technology. The board is made up of 54 regional, national and international representatives with diverse leadership roles in business, government and academia. Members are elected for up to two three-year terms. Founded in 1957 as the National Advisory Board of the Georgia Tech National Alumni Association, the board changed its name to GTAB in 1990.

Sturgis will assume her duties as GTAB chair in July 2016 and will serve in this capacity through June 2017. She will also be named as an ex officio member of the Georgia Tech Foundation Inc. for her term of service as GTAB chair.

A Georgia Tech graduate with a B.S. degree in Industrial Management, Sturgis has spent the past 20 years working in the tech, media and internet sectors. Prior to her role at Yext, she held executive positions at Oracle, Gartner, Right Media and Yahoo!, where she was vice president of account management for North America. She serves on the Dailyworth.com and Student Transportation Inc. boards and is also the vice chair of Step Up Women's Network board. She was named one of the 40 Women to Watch Over 40 in 2013.
