Summaries

Summary Sentence: Spring Concert

Full Summary: No summary paragraph submitted.

The Wind Ensemble celebrates the overwhelming human emotion of hope against all odds with the music of Bernstein, Dvorak, Gabrieli, and Ticheli. We open in the Renaissance style of Gabrieli with his Canzona Duodecimi Toni, part of his extensive works while composer for St. Mark's Cathedral in Venice. The chamber music of Dvorak, his Serenade in D minor, follows providing introspective conversation between closely related instruments. The scene turns much more agitated and anguished with Bernstein's "Profanation" from the Jeremiah Symphony. The concert closes in celebration of the human experience with the conflict of light and dark in Ticheli's Angels in the Architecture. Please plan on being part of a special evening of music at Georgia Tech.

Free Admission for students with Buzzcard. General Admission $10.00
