The Student Government Association (SGA) has elected its leaders for the 2016-17 year. Nagela Nukuna and Shane Mudrinich were elected president and executive vice president, respectively, for the undergraduate SGA. For graduate SGA, David Scripka and Quintin Kreth will serve as president and vice president.
Now, the new leadership is looking for other students to get involved in its cabinet and leadership roles. One way students can get involved is by serving on the Executive Cabinet. View the full application for roles and descriptions.
Applications for undergraduate cabinet positions are open through Saturday, April 23, at 11:59 p.m. Rolling interviews will take place as applications come in. Completed applications should be sent to Mudrinich at shanemudrinich@gmail.com, as well as turned in at the SGA Office located on the first floor of the Student Center Commons.
Those interested in a position are encouraged to reach out to the person who held it this year to learn more about the roles and responsibilities. All contact information is listed in the application.
"SGA deals in a wide variety of areas on campus and has a lot to offer," said Ben Nickel, VP of communications for 2016. "Your work will directly impact issues like parking on campus, bolstering mental health resources, and improving faculty-student interactions. Many of these positions often work hands-on with administration and student leaders across campus to implement policies and launch initiatives."
Representative positions are also available for the School of History and Sociology, the School of Public Policy, the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, and the School of Mechanical Engineering. Students interested in applying for these spots should submit their name to the Speaker of the House. More information will follow at www.sga.gatech.edu and www.facebook.com/gtsga.
