9th Southeast Meeting on Soft Materials

*********************************
There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Summaries

Summary Sentence: 9th Southeast Meeting on Soft Materials Workshop

Full Summary: The workshop brings together researchers in the Southeast with an interest in Soft Materials, Molecular Forces, Biophysics, Molecular Electronics and Fluid Dynamics to discuss their work and inspire new collaborations.

The 9th Southeast Meeting on Soft Materials will be held on Monday, May 16, 2016, at the Scheller College of Business on the Georgia Institute of Technology Campus.  The workshop brings together researchers in the Southeast with an interest in Soft Materials, Molecular Forces, Biophysics, Molecular Electronics and Fluid Dynamics to discuss their work and inspire new collaborations.

The workshop will include a Keynote speaker as well as three invited speakers:

  • William  Irvine, University of Chicago (Keynote)
  • Justin Burton, Emory University
  • Mark Losego, Georgia Tech
  • Peter Yunker, Georgia Tech

The rest of the time will be allotted to SHORT presentations (sound bites) that are intended to give the audience a flavor for the research topics and the techniques used to address the research problems discussed. We invite students, post docs, and faculties to present sound bites. We hope and expect that students will attend whether or not their faculty advisors can attend. Prizes will be awarded for the best sound bites!

Please submit your registration by Wednesday, May 11th, 2016. If you intend to give a Sound Bite (3-5 minute summary of your current research), you should submit a title and list of authors with your registration.

Visit http://www.softmaterials.gatech.edu/ for complete workshop information and registration/title submission.
The workshop is free and breakfast, lunch, snacks, and coffee provided.

Breakfast starts at 8:30 am. Workshop 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.

We would like to thank our sponsors for making the workshop possible:
