Company representatives will give a brief description of Marathon Petroleum Company (MPC, Fortune 25) and provide information on career opportunities available to electrical engineers. The discussion highlights specific roles for electrical engineers in the oil refining setting.

Speaker Bios:
Alvin H. Lu is a graduate from Georgia Tech (BS ChBE 2011) from Marietta, GA who has been working as a Refinery Engineer at Marathon Petroleum in Louisiana since 2014. He is currently a member of the process optimization group at the nation’s third largest refinery in Garyville, Louisiana. He has a variety of prior industry experience including chemicals, elastomers, and consumer products manufacturing for several different companies as a co-op student and undergraduate. Alvin also heads the Georgia Tech Recruiting Team for MPC.

Chelsea Puesey is a graduate from the University of Toledo (BS EE 2015). She is from Tiffin, Ohio and has been working with Marathon Petroleum in Louisiana since January of 2016. She is a Refining Engineer in the Electrical and Instrumentation department. She has done four co-op terms with Marathon throughout her college career. She has worked at three of the seven MPC Refineries including the Ohio Refining Division, Michigan Refining Division, and Louisiana Refining Division.
