There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Tony Giarrusso, associate director of the Center for Geographic Information Systems, in March presented a paper titled, "It's Just Too Easy; Today's Perspective on Teaching Non-GIS Students How to Create Interactive Maps and Apps," at the 2016 annual meeting of the American Association of Geographers in San Francisco, California.
His presentation was part of a paper on Coding and App Development in Geography and GIS Education I. It highlighted the application development tools and methods used in an introductory GIS course at Georgia Tech. Student projects were highlighted.
