There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. The National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security have announced that the Georgia Tech Information Security Center (GTISC) will remain among the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education. Designation as a Center is good for three academic years, after which a university must reapply. GTISC was initially designated as a Center in 2001, reapplied and was successfully evaluated against strengthened criteria.
Ten additional university centers, including Kennesaw State University’s Center for Information Security Education and Awareness, were added to the fraternity, bringing the total number of such centers to 59 in 27 states.
