Georgia Council for International Visitors Global Lunch Forum
Join us for a captivating and informative slideshow presentation by renowned British photojournalist and humanitarian, Dr. Lee Karen Stow.
Poppies: Women and War was inspired by Moina Belle Michael of Athens, Georgia, who, close to a century ago, was instrumental in immortalizing the poppy flower in silk, as a symbol of remembrance. Stow’s portraits of the resilient poppy flower, in many colors, are shown alongside an evolving series of portraits of women worldwide involved in or affected by war, from the First World War to the present.
Cost per person (includes lunch): $15; GT Students: $5.
