Congratulations Professor Irizarry!
Javier Irizarry, Associate Professor in the School of Building Construction at Georgia Tech has been selected for one of the four Faculty Internship Awards provided by the Associated General Contractors of America. (AGC)
This national competition open to all construction related faculty in the United States, involves a partnership between the AGC Education and Research Foundation, university faculty, and construction companies. Each of the four professors selected, will spend the summer "interning" with a construction company. This internship provides the construction faculty with an opportunity to work on real-life issues, with a goal of updating their course curriculum and instruction, to benefit students in the construction programs.
For his summer internship, Irizarry will partner with Batson-Cook Construction. He will spend the summer working with them in their Safety and Health Management Division.
