What is the GT BIM Certificate Course?

Georgia Tech in collaboration with Skanska is offering this unique certificate course for construction professionals. This new course is meant to provide an important foundation into the major uses of BIM, with focus on the needs of the contractor and fabricator.

BIM for Construction Management is a four-day immersion course dealing with: the organization of BIM data, its use in BIM tools during construction planning and execution, use of BIM models in time, space, and quality, their benefits and weaknesses. It includes in-person hands-on training in multiple BIM software applications, a session in field-related technologies and a project tour in applied technologies within the construction process.

This Course has been designed to provide a certificate program that addresses the foundational skills needed by BIM professionals at construction management firms. This four-day course at Georgia Tech provides a thorough, hands-on introduction to how BIM enables and offers new methods for many current activities regarding layout, planning, coordination, safety, quality, procurement, and related activities.
