Pi Mile Road RaceMarch 14 holds a special place in the heart of the Georgia Tech community. To celebrate Pi Day — also the birthday of Albert Einstein — the Institute is offering a few special treats.
Follow Georgia Tech on Twitter and Instagram for an opportunity to get free pie today. The accounts will post various locations around campus where students can find fried peach pies baked by Campus Pastry Chef Katherine Benson.
Wish Einstein a happy birthday and stop by his monument on Tech Green at noon. Cake will be provided.
Sign up for the Pi Mile Road Race happening on April 30. This year’s 5K will mark the 44th anniversary of the long-running tradition. The event will feature music, food, and a photo-op with Buzz.
Part of this race is run along the Tyler Brown Pi Mile, named after former Georgia Tech student Tyler Brown. Brown was killed in Iraq in 2004 while serving on active duty for the U.S. Army. At Georgia Tech, Brown was a member of ROTC and would frequently run in the mornings. He was passionate about making campus safe for runners so when the trail was completed, many of his former classmates petitioned for it to be named in honor of him.
