Georgia Tech announced that HPCC Systems®, LexisNexis® Risk Solutions’ open-source, enterprise-proven platform for Big Data analysis and processing for large volumes of data in 24/7 environments, has contributed the first fellowships to the Institute’s interdisciplinary M.S. in Analytics one-year degree program. This unique program is set to produce technologically savvy professionals who will be adept at handling Big Data issues from an interdisciplinary perspective, as the program is a collaboration with the College of Engineering, the College of Computing, and the College of Business.
The fellowships are a one-year contribution that will be awarded to two students with the intention of helping the M.S. in Analytics program attract top talent. In addition, the fellowships can create a talent pipeline: The students will be able to take an internship with HPCC Systems or even be a potential post-graduation hire.
About the collaboration, program director Joel Sokol (also Fouts Family Associate Professor in the Stewart School of Industrial & Systems Engineering) says, “We are delighted to partner with HPCC Systems for this first fellowship for the M.S. in Analytics program. It will strengthen Georgia Tech’s and HPCC Systems’ attractiveness for outstanding analytics professionals. We look forward to awarding the fellowships to talented and deserving students.”
