As February comes to a close, the Office of Human Resources has updates on a few of Tech's benefit programs and the performance review process.
Georgia Tech Human Resources has made it easier for employees to use the new Education Support Leave (ESL) benefit. ESL was established by the University System of Georgia in 2015 to provide an opportunity for full-time, regular employees to be involved in activities that promote education by providing eight hours of paid leave per calendar year for that specific purpose. Activities that promote education in Georgia may include:
To use ESL, employees must have prior approval of their immediate supervisor. The time can be reported through TimeOut (monthly) or by using time code “ESL” (biweekly).
View the Education Support Leave policy at www.c.gatech.edu/esl.
Performance evaluations must be completed and returned to Georgia Tech Human Resources by Friday, March 11. Institute policy requires that all employees be reviewed at least once every 12-month period. These conversations are important for employee development, advancement, and success at Georgia Tech. The process should involve a collaborative discussion to evaluate performance and establish 2016 goals. Learn more at www.ohr.gatech.edu/performance.
Available exclusively for employees, the summer camp resource guide provides access to an online database of nearly 1,000 camps in the Atlanta area. Set specific guidelines to streamline your search, and find what fits best for your family. The guide is available from March 15 to June 30 at www.ohr.gatech.edu/summercamps.
