No matter your role on campus, there are opportunities to get involved in the operations of working at Georgia Tech.
Both Faculty Governance and Staff Council are looking for volunteers to serve on a number of committees that shape life at Tech.
The Staff Council is looking to fill positions on all five of its standing committees, covering the areas of campus physical environment; communication; compensation and benefits; employee engagement; and employee health and well being.
“The reach of Staff Council is only as far as the breadth and depth of its committee members,” said Debbie Dorsey, Staff Council chair.
Interested Georgia Tech staff members should apply online here by Friday, March 4. To be qualified to serve, staff should:
Each committee will have between eight and 12 members plus the committee chair. Because there are a limited number of spaces on the committees, interested staff should be specific in explaining their skills and desires for committee membership.
Even though staff members may only serve on one committee, staff are encouraged to apply for more than one committee, listing their preferences in order of interest.
Learn more about the work of the Staff Council committees at www.staffcouncil.gatech.edu/committees. For more information about the Staff Council, visit www.staffcouncil.gatech.edu.
Faculty Governance is also looking for volunteers for its standing committees. These opportunities are divided based on faculty position.
These groups are looking for representation in the following areas:
Faculty Executive Board (drawn from Faculty Senate only)
Faculty Standing Committees
Academic Faculty Senate
Academic Faculty Standing Committees
For questions and to nominate someone (self nominations included) to one of these positions, contact George Riley at riley@ece.gatech.edu.
