Chen Zhou has been named associate chair for undergraduate studies at the Stewart School of ISyE beginning January 1, 2008. Dr. Chen Zhou replaces Paul Griffin who decided to return to faculty full time after five successful years in the position.
"The associate chair of undergraduate studies is responsible for creating an outstanding learning environment for our undergraduate students,* said Chelsea C. White III, ISyE School Chair. "Chen brings to the position exceptional administrative skills, a deep understanding and concern for the undergraduate student, and an experienced global perspective that will further enhance an already robust program.*
Chen received a B.S. degree from Tianjin University (China) in 1982, an M.S. in mechanical engineering from Pennsylvania State University in 1984, and a Ph.D. in industrial engineering from Pennsylvania State University in 1988. He came to the Stewart School of ISyE in 1989, where he is now an associate professor in ISyE, the director of Global Education with the Supply Chain & Logistics Institute, director of the Dual MS Degree Program with National University of Singapore, and director of the Beijing/Singapore Summer program. He is a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. His research focus includes manufacturing systems, supply chain, sustainable systems and logistics in China.
