The Georgia Tech chapter of Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) hosted the 2008 Career Fair on February 4-5, 2008. At this year's event, more than 50 participating companies were seeking qualified candidates for co-op, internship, and full-time positions in all areas of industrial engineering.

Company representatives, many of whom are ISyE graduates, were impressed by the number and quality of applicants in attendance. Charly Ugorji, BS IE 2004, is a supplier development engineer with Caterpillar and served as the company's lead recruiter at this year's IIE Career Fair. He stated "Caterpillar has always been a strong supporter of IIE and the Stewart School of ISyE due to the impressive strength of the program. Caterpillar is always looking for ways to strengthen its ties to the School to educate students about the broad range of career opportunities Caterpillar offers. We look forward to continuing this strategic partnership with ISyE.*

The IIE Career Fair is a well organized event that offers companies one-on-one face time with students, unlike larger career fairs. Attendees understand and appreciate the benefit of this type of personal interaction. Students and companies alike recognize the opportunity to showcase their strengths and find the right match in terms of knowledge, skill, and personality.
