U.S. News & World Report Releases 2009 Graduate Rankings

The H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISyE) maintained its status as the number one graduate program for industrial/manufacturing engineering, according to U.S. News & World Report, the most widely read college rankings for graduate programs. This is the 18th consecutive year that ISyE has taken the top honor for its graduate program.

Released late last month, the report ranked 10 of the 11 programs within Georgia Tech's College of Engineering among the top 10 in their respective disciplines, led by ISyE. The College of Engineering ranked 4th in the category of engineering. The nine engineering programs ranked in the top 10 are:

Industrial and Systems (1st), Biomedical (2nd), Aerospace (4th), Civil (6th), Electrical (6th), Environmental (6th), Computer (7th), Mechanical (7th), Materials (8th), and Nuclear (9th).

Chelsea C. White III, ISyE School Chair, is pleased to learn that "ISyE continues to distinguish itself among the U. S. News & World Report rankings, reflecting the faculty and staff's consistent hard work this year and in past years. It is rewarding to see our effort and dedication to excellence in education and research recognized on a national level."

The U.S. News & World Report published its rankings in the 2009 edition of "America's Best Graduate Schools."
