Professor Bartholdi; Dr. DeSouze, TLIP-AP ExecutivOn April 28 and 29, 2008, Provost Gary Schuster, Vice Provost for International Initiatives Steven McLaughlin, and Georgia Tech Supply Chain & Logistics Institute Managing Director Harvey Donaldson hosted National University of Singapore (NUS) Provost Tan Eng Chye and The Logistics Institute (TLI) Asia Pacific management team here at Georgia Tech.
During the meeting they finalized their plans for continuing TLI Asia Pacific's development and growth over the next five years. The two universities have agreed to continue the partnership and to focus on three strategic goals:
* Increase the size of the dual master degree program in global supply chain management; thus providing more highly quality supply chain professionals for Asia Pacific businesses based in Singapore
* Rejuvenate collaborative research between NUS and Georgia Tech; research focused on Asia Pacific links in global supply chains
* Continue and expand TLI Asia Pacific industry outreach role in supporting the Asia Pacific business community with executive education programs, thought leadership conferences and applied research
From the first conceptual discussions about a Georgia Tech logistics academic center in Singapore in 1998 until today, TLI Asia Pacific has had the enthusiastic support of Georgia Tech. The entire Georgia Tech and SCL leadership team values its relationship and looks forward to future opportunities to expand its presence in Singapore.

The TLI Asia Pacific Institute, located in Singapore, is a collaboration between the NUS and Georgia Tech for research and educational programs in global logistics. TLI-Asia Pacific is modeled after SCL, which has received widespread industry recognition as one of the premier institutes for logistics education and research.
Three of the major programs in TLI-Asia Pacific are the Dual Masters Program (DMP), Research, and Industry Outreach. DMP is a prestigious academic graduate program in logistics and supply chain management, jointly conducted by NUS and Georgia Tech. Successful graduates are conferred with two degrees: Master of Science in Logistics & Supply Chain Management from NUS and a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech.
