There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Richard Peng researches how to make the use of data more effective through algorithms. An assistant professor for the School of Computer Science in the College of Computing at the Georgia Institute of Technology, he is affiliated with the Algorithms and Randomness Center (ARC) at Georgia Tech. His main research interests are in the design, analysis, and implementation of efficient algorithms. Prior to arriving to Georgia Tech, Peng was an instructor in applied math at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Microsoft Research Fellow. He earned his doctorate from Carnegie Mellon University in 2013, where his thesis won the Carnegie Mellon School of Computer Science’s Distinguished Dissertation Award.
