A recipient of Google’s Anita Borg Memorial Fellowship in 2012, Neha Kumar is an assistant professor for the School of Interactive Computing in the College of Computing at the Georgia Institute of Technology, with a joint appointment in the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs. Kumar’s research lies in the intersection of global development and human-centered computing. Before coming to Georgia Tech, she completed postdoctoral appointments at the University of Washington's Computer Science and Engineering department and at the University of Southern California's Annenberg School of Communication, where she was their Digital Diversity Postdoctoral Scholar. She completed her doctorate at the School of Information at University of California, Berkeley and was advised by Prof. Tapan Parikh. She holds two master’s degrees from Stanford University, one in computer science and the other in learning, design and technology.
