Do you have the next brilliant startup idea?

Startup Summer is looking for great ideas from Tech students for its 2016 program.

Startup Summer is an intensive 12-week program in which student teams launch startups based on their ideas and prototypes. Teams are provided $20,000 in seed funding, mentorship, workspace, intellectual property protection, and visibility. Applications are now open for this summer.

To date, 21 teams have been through the 2-year-old program and launched their startups.

"CREATE-X and Startup Summer gave us the ability to go from an idea to a launched startup," said Patrick Pittaluga, a co-founder of Grubbly Farms from the 2015 class of Startup Summer.

Sean Warner, another Grubbly co-founder, said the program helped them understand their market and positioned them to start earning revenue for their service.

Gimme Vending, a student startup from Startup Summer 2014, helps vending machine operators efficiently manage their fleet of machines and route drivers for improved management visibility and increased revenue production. Since Startup Summer, the team has raised $450,000 in outside funding.

Startup Summer is the LAUNCH signature element within CREATE-X, an initiative established by Tech alumnus Chris Klaus to build entrepreneurial confidence among Georgia Tech undergraduates.

Applications for Startup Summer are due Friday, March 18. Earlier applications will receive immediate consideration and decisions. To learn more about Startup Summer, RSVP to attend an info session on Wednesday, Feb. 10 from noon to 1 p.m. in Room 102 of Clough Commons. Pizza and refreshments will be served.
