Thomas M. Conte has been named the new IEEE-CS representative on the Computing Research Association (CRA) Board of Directors. CRA sets the national policy agenda for all of computing.
Conte will be a voting member of the 34-member CRA board, and his appointment is for two years, renewable. He served as president of the IEEE Computer Society in 2015 and currently co-chairs the IEEE Rebooting Computing Initiative. The initiative seeks to identify novel post-Moore’s Law computing technologies.
Conte is a professor who is jointly appointed in the Georgia Tech Schools of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Computer Science. His research is in the areas of computer architecture and compiler optimization, including manycore architectures, microprocessor architectures, back-end compiler code generation, architectural performance evaluation, and embedded computer system architectures.
