All four GT choirs and the GT Symphony Orchestra will join forces to perform Requiem, Op. 30 by composer and GT choral director Jerry Ulrich. Written in 2001, the work includes texts from the Requiem Mass, the service of Compline, and poetry from the Terezin Concentration Camp in modern-day Czech Republic. The work also includes a children’s chorus, an offstage instrumental ensemble, and soprano soloist. The work was written in memory of children who have been victims of violence, and is a poignant expression of the indefatigable optimism and hope of children. The work is a part of the Concert of Contemporary Music on Sunday, April 17 at 3 PM in the Robert Ferst Center for the Arts.
