Full Summary: On Saturday January 30, 2016, the top 32 student teams (out of 400 across the state) will pit their autonomous LEGO robots against each other in the Georgia Tech FIRST LEGO League Tournament.

On Saturday January 30, 2016, 32 teams will gather at the Wayne Clough Undergraduate Learning Commons to pit their LEGO robots against one another in the Georgia Tech FIRST® LEGO® League Tournament. This all-day event will have about 300-400 students ages 9-14 on campus, along with their families, friends, and other members of their entourage to cheer them on.

In the 2015/16 FIRST® LEGO® League TRASH TREKSM Challenge FLL teams will explore the fascinating world of trash. From collection, to sorting, to smart production and reuse, there is more to your trash than meets the eye. During the TRASH TREKSM season, teams will build, test, and program an autonomous robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS® to solve a set of missions in the Robot Game. They will also choose and solve a real-world question in the Project. Throughout their experience, teams will operate under FLL’s signature set of Core Values.

This event is coordinated by the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Women in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and the Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics, and Computing.

A live webcast is scheduled to start at 12:45 p.m. with the opening ceremony, followed by competition rounds. The closing ceremony is scheduled to end around 5 p.m. View the livestream.
