SOE Associate Professor Tibor Besedes took part in the Allied Social Science Association's Annual Meeting in San Francisco on January 2nd through 4th.  He presented his paper “Trade Integration and the Fragility of Trade Relationships: Theory and Empirics” in a well-attended session. The paper examines the effect of international trade agreements on the growth and duration of trade at the product level. The paper is co-authored with SOE Assistant Professor Juan Moreno-Cruz and Volker Nitsch of Germany’s Darmstadt Technical University. The ASSA meetings are organized by the American Economics Association and other associations in related disciplines and is the largest annual gathering of economists in the world.
