TITLE: Business Analytics and Optimization

ABSTRACT:
In 2009, IBM launched a major activity in business analytics and optimization. This includes operations research, data analytics, statistical analysis, business optimization and risk management. I will review this and discuss how it fits with our Smarter Planets strategic initiative. I will focus on the types of client problems that are being attacked as well as the types of activities that are taking place. I will also discuss the disciplines that being combined in his activity as well as some of the major challenges we face.
