Mark Riedl was intervied by Daniela Hernandez on Fusion about humanizing robots through humor to enhance our interaction experience with them. “The larger goal is making AIs that come across to humans as more natural,” said Mark Riedl, an interactive computing expert at Georgia Institute of Technology who studies humor. “Humor can be used to put people at ease and create rapport. This will be crucial where we’re building societies surrounded by AIs.”
