Summaries

Summary Sentence: Arts@Tech 2015-16 Season presents Okwui Okpokwasili: Bronx Gothic

Full Summary: Bronx Gothic reveals an impassioned coming of age story as notes are surreptitiously passed between two pre-teen girls. Using song, stories, and movement, Okpokwasili chronicles the sexual awakening and exploits of the 11-year-olds growing up in the Bronx. This solo performance features direction and visual design by Bessie Award winner Peter Born. Recalling the West African griot storyteller tradition, the show features an intensely physical solo performance by Okpokwasili.
