Jon Sanford, Director of Georgia Tech's Center for Assistive Technology and Environmental Access and Co-Director of the Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center on Technologies for Successful Aging with Disability, will lead a discussion about the future of aging research at Georgia Tech. Aging and the challenges it poses to everyday life is one of the few issues of our time that defy disciplinary ownership. More importantly as there is ever increasing interest across the Georgia campus in the expanding importance of design and technology to address these challenges, there is also an understanding that new and innovative solutions are dependent on cross-, inter- and multidisciplinary collaboration. To take full advantage of the experience, capacity, multidisciplinary diversity and relevant research at Georgia Tech, this Think Tank will provide a forum to identify the Institute's relevant research, outreach and educational efforts and to begin to outline a vision for an Interdisciplinary Center on Design and Technology for Healthy Aging that will provide an unique collaborative environment to leverage those efforts in order to meet the health, activity and participation needs of older adults.

The Thursday Think Tank is a weekly gathering of the IPaT community to brainstorm about research, and stay informed about the work that everyone is doing. Come interact with colleagues and engage on topics of shared interest.
