The ICT Research Roundtable, a project of Georgia Tech's Center for Advanced Communications Policy and its Internet and Public Policy Project, hosts School of Public Policy Professor Juan Rogers on "The role of IT in development: A deeper meaning for convergence?"
The presentation will address the issue of information strategy and organizational change that is necessary for realizing the economic potential of IT. It seems that a new productivity paradox is happening in the developing world, one that mirrors the experience of developed countries two decades ago. Investment in IT has grown but the promise of increased economic performance has not materialized as expected. The presentation will outline the conditions for IT to deliver its promise in the developing world.
The ICT Research Roundtable is a focal point at Georgia Tech for policy research on information and communication policy and the technology that facilitates them. The speaker series features faculty and researchers from across campus presenting their academic work.
